Trying the 235g Speer in my Whitworth. Looking for 2300 to 2500 fps. Any suggestions? It could not stand 63 gr H4895. Liked IMR 4064 but at 2700 fps. Looking for a good plinker and short range deer load. Thanks. GreggH

I always used R15 and the starting load may be close enough. At 2500 the Speers work well.

I'd also try RL15. I've had excellent results with that powder and fairly light 375 pills... The online speer loading data lists that powder for the 235gr. semi spitzer sp.... I think you'll find a great load using that powder...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Another vote for RL15. I've used it with everything from 350gr Woodleigh's to 235 Barnes and Speer. Don't have my load data handy for the 235's but I was pushing them up around 2850.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

RL15 is a good'un in the 375, but Ive also had good results with H4895 and that particular bullet.
