I don't recall anyone saying much about the above mentioned scope. If you have used an HD5 on a hunting rifle, tell me what you think.

Thanks, RS

I have 4 HD5 scopes 3-15x42, 3-15x50 and 5-25x50 all have target turrets. I don't own the 2-10x42 but would expect its a quality scope. I have been impressed with Zeiss glass for some time comparable to Swaro I like Zeiss turrets better. Its hard to stay honest with them when it gets close to dark.

Good luck and shot straight

I have several of the HD5 2-10x42s with the Rapid Z600 reticle that I bought on close out from Camerland. I have hunted them pretty much exclusively the last few years, mainly on a couple of .300 Weatherby rifles. Hunts have included Africa twice, including a leopard, and a mule deer hunt among other hunts. Probably my favorite scope, though I think but am not sure that Zeiss may have quit making it with that reticle. On another note, I just bought a Tract Toric 2-10x42 BDC. I haven't fully vetted it but so far it seems to compare really well to the Zeiss in size, weight, eye relief and optical quality. I need to get it to the range and try the BDC reticle, though.

I have one and it's great. Better than more expensive scopes that I own.

I've got one that's nearly perfect with the Z600 I'd sell.

Have one, haven't used it much but like what I've seen so far. It's going off to Kenton Industries for an elevation dial, then going on a 30/06 Fwt. I think they're a steal at Cabela's close-out prices.
