Took the boy and one other for a walk today. As to the dog, I always figured a labs default was full retard? Does he actually point? If so, that is bad azz! My buddies lab I've chased birds with is hilarious. Great nose, super birdy and driven, ...........and he'll give you 200 yard shots at birds all day if you can't run as fast as he can. Lol. Any stocked bird and some wilds simply get retrieved with out being shot. Its hilarious.

That last sentence made me laugh. My dog may be too excited to be of value the first week or two but that's only because I never "work" with him in the off season. If I lived somewhere else I probably would. But even in full retard mode he is easy to read and will let you know there are birds. 200yd flushes would result in his head getting canoed. Instantly.
