I quit reading that thread after the third post. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see that topic was gonna head down hill in a hurry. Then I saw this one and had to go back a see what Rick done.

Rick is a good man and runs a good shop here. I'll add my "respects" too.

The way Rick handles stuff here is what makes this site what it is. People here are more acquainted with each other than on most other sites, whether they like each other or not. There is also a WEALTH of informative posters on this site compared to most. I like the fact that Rick pretty much lets the boys be boys and respect his judgement enough not to bitch about it if he pulls the plug when things get ugly............

Rick seems cool about letting a thread run it's course,...but DANG!,.... 17-18 pages of that lame ass crap pegged at the top of the forum?!,... that's plenty,..... no complaints from me about how this place is run.

I don't give a crap who you are or where you come from that BS that our own BS put down was wrong. In so many ways.

Lest you call me a Yankee or crybaby or whatever you want to call me let me say this: I just came in from a throw 'em down contest with some of the best redneck beer swilling good ole boys that NASCAR has to offer and in the 3 hours we put them down there wasn't a racial slur, an intentional bait and hook, or threat of fisticuffs to be found.

I don't know what part of America some of you grew up in, but in the part that I did my mother taught me more manners that to do what some of you propose. PC has nothing to do with it. A true southern gentleman acts the part regardless of the company.

The true legacy of the south is to teach others our ways and to include them in our culture. Not to exclude them because of the shape of their eyes or color of their skin. Manners are manners I don't give a damn what the context.

Cry all you want, what happened on that thread was rude. Vicious and rude. From a soft little man who enjoys seeing the pain he can inflict on others... If I had my way he'd have made his last post. Thank your lucky stars that Rick has nore tolerance than I have for rude behavior.

Will

I'm pretty sure the point of locking the thread was to kill the topic....not for it to spring up again here.

Re-hashing it seems counter-productive, and out of alignment with this thread.

Yeah,... well,.... let's profile the guy and see if any insight becomes obvious.

1. He gotta chip on his shoulder.

2. He presents this big, hairy macho persona on the net.

3. He chose the nick, "Big Stick".

*shrugg*,.... ya ain't gotta be Freud to figure him out,.. yanno?

Pardon me, but, my intention in starting this post was to offer and encourage accolades to Rick and the Campfire; it was NOT to resurrect the TKD thread or provide an opportunity for ANYONE to comment upon those who took part in that donnybrook. IF, you want to discuss those issues, PLEASE start your own thread and post your opinions thereon; again, this is NOT about what you or anyone thinks about anyone except RB and his gracious demeanor here, get it?

Oh sure, jump in now that someone who disagrees with you speaks up.

I didn't see you playing the peacemaker when so many on the other side had their say on this thread. You were very content to let them speak up and have their say again.

Riding the fence too long can give a man a mighty sore crotch Kute.

You need to figure out where you stand on this issue hoss.

If, I said here what I really think about a few of the participants on that thread, I would violate Rick's decree concerning dropping the issue. I enjoy the Campfire and respect his right to govern as he sees fit, so, I do not want to have someone ruin this thread as those few did that one; what is so hard to grasp about that?

My mind is made up, but, it is not my desire to re-initiate the TKW thread and that is final.

Ruin it?

You object now that someone on the other side of that thread spoke up. You didn't make a whisper of protest when they were bringing it up again and again and continuing the same old song and dance. Defending their point of view that nothing out of the ordinary happened on that thread. It was all in the line of normal discourse.

Make up your mind hoss, it's just that simple.

Good post kute,

It's hard to say "thanks" to Rick enough for this site, I'm not much of a TV watcher, but I liken it to what it would probably be if a guy had cable and 157 channels.

I've learned a BUNCH on some threads, been amused by others, laughed out loud at some of the hijinks and jokes, been saddened by some folks thoughts on some matters, made some friends, been able to help out in a good cause or two, and gotten thoroughly pizzed off a few times at different posters. Thinking that about covers it.

But unlike TV, you can talk back to this thing, and often it'll answer back, if you don't like it flip the channel or put a right jab right through your monitor, that'll teach the sumbeetch.

It's an entertaining, informative, perplexing and frustrating thing this campfire and I truly appreciate the place. (similar to real life at times)

Thanks Rick, though you're costing me in Mickeys, turrets and such, you really oughta be picking up part of my tab for those things. (grin)

Thanks all. Appreciate the intent kute.

It's going to be a long night, but I'm turing this one in early too, before it gets out of hand.

I've made my intentions clear.

THREAD LOCKED!

Rick
