Taking my wife to Las Vegas for her birthday at the end of February. Anything worth checking out besides the obvious? Remember I'll have wifey at my side.

Is there a Cabelas or Bass Pro or other good gun/hunting shop there?

I have always wanted to check out the pawn shops to see what the gambler's have hocked. I've been to Vegas 5-6 times and haven't been to a pawn shop yet. Maybe I'll go to the SHOT show there next year and check them out.

There's a Bass Pro. What other interests do you have?

Yes there is a bass pro and a place where you can fire a machine gun. Don't remember the name offhand but someone will know where it is.

That's cool.

Doing the Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam one day. Also have a trail ride in the desert booked. The gambling thing isn't really my deal.

Thanks guys.

Been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt. And my t-shirt says it's called the Gun Store. Original, huh?! My t-shirt also says they have a website called www.thegunstorelasvegas.com ......more originality.

It's north (I think) of the MGM Grand a few miles. Take the bus. In fact, get a bus pass the first thing you get there and that will help you out a bunch. You can walk anywhere but if you're at one end and want to go to the other, you'll appreciate the bus and a pass will save you a few bucks.

Back to the machine gun place, I don't gamble and my company insisted my wife and I go out to Vegas with them so they paid for us to go. I dropped a hundred and a half shooting full autos and enjoyed every minute....or maybe it was second ......of it. If you've done it before, no big deal, but I hadn't and it was fun. They have a about a dozen or more different models. Kinda neat.

The basement of what was then the Aladin had the best buffet in town...Theives Market or something like that. The roller coaster at NY NY is a good one but expensive. Accros the street at the MGM they do a lion show that's worth seeing and it's free. Across from them to the east, they do a good bird show....free. Lots of stuff to do without spending too much money unless you gamble.

Play guitar? Ed Roman has his store there. He's a trip!

Have fun!

Find a gunshow.

I'd see who was fighting either boxing or UFC, also can't believe no one has mentioned the entertainment there.

Cirque de Soleil was like nothing I'd ever experienced in life without being under the influence of an illegal substance.

My picks of the litter are Mystere and "O"

Blue Man Group is good if you've never seen them, and there are always top notch, musicians, magicians and comedians playing the strip.

All the entertainment is spendy, but how often do you go to Vegas?

I was stationed at Nellis AFB - lived 2 1/2 yrs in Vegas, left in aug 72, never thought of going back. Odd city, I remember hearing, 'Honey we've saved all our lives for this trip, lets go for it" Saw many older folks crying as they gambled away their money - swore I would never do that. But gotta admit I Spend most of it on guns and hunting trips.

Leaving in 24 hours. Back to the top one more time.

How about food? Any buffets recommended? I heard there was a great seafood thing someplace. Reasonably priced steak place?

Thanks.

The buffet at the Bellagio. Pricey, but you'll thank me later. Try to skip lunch.

Gotta see the Water Show, too, at Bellagio.

grin
