I am somewhat ticked at my Ruger American for feeding issues so I'm fishing around for a LH 243 in Hawkeye or MK 11. When did Ruger begin LH in Mod 77 .I searched the net and got no results so far. Only interested in LH

Don't know when they started making left hand short actions but I believe all left hand MK II models were long actions. There's a LH 243 Hawkeye for sale in the classifieds here right now.

Generally, it is a magazine issue. Many have put extra tension on the springs or had Ruger send new mags.
It would be tough to tweak a 77 to shoot as well as an American does with no modifications.

If you must decide, I believe the Hawkeye is the way to go.

I like what Ruger did to the Hawkeye stock. It just feels good to me.
