Do you guys ever seem to run into a max velocity or a "cap" where you just can't squeeze anymore speed out of a particular load in a particular rifle? For example, in my Whelen with 200 gr TTSX and 59gr of 8208 I have great accuracy and what I think is good speed @ 2800+. For grins I tried mag primers @59gr and std and mags @59.4 and 59.8 with accuracy being decent but velocity didn't change at all from my starting point even being almost a whole grain more. In my simple brain Im guessing that it's just not burning efficiently enough to make a difference?? Just curious. For what it's worth, 61grs of varget gave me tiny groups too but 100fps behind the 8208. On the bright side, I'm pretty set on that load to use on my trip to Canada to kill giant white tail!

An accurate 200grain TTSX load at 2800 ft/sec seems like it should do what you want it to do. IMO if I wanted more, I'd go with a 358 Norma.

I was working up an 87 grain Vmax H4350 load in a 243 one time. I was increasing the load and it got to a point where adding more powder was decreasing velocity. I guess you could call that a velocity cap.
