Thought I'd bump this thread back to the top with my Sako in 222. It has turned into my woods roaming rifle and does a real job on the odd coyote. It is light weight and fairly accurate. It will come close to an inch at 100 yards with 45 grain bullets but it can't stand heavy bullets.

I have a much abused and modified version, unfortunately not full stocked like yours. I wasn't even aware that the L46/Vixen models included a full stocked version. Mine was rechambered to 223 Rem at some point. It is one of the most accurate rifles I own despite everything. The rifling twist on these things is about 1:14 and, as you noted, they don't do heavy bullets well. I got the 60gr Partition to shoot OK, but mine excels with the 55 gr and under bullets.

I'm not sure what the model number is on this thing. I was told it is called a Riihimaki Sako. I think that is kind of a pre L46/Vixen. It has a removable 3 shot magazine that I'm not real wild about because of the possibility of loss. It works good and doesn't stick out the bottom, so it is still easy to carry in the hand. A replacement would probably run me about $200 if I could find one. This one is rapidly gaining favorite rifle status just because I carry it so much in the off season.

I have a 257 Roberts with a short barrel and full stock, but it isn't an RSI. It is old...I think it might be what Bill Ruger was aiming for when he came up with the RSI and he nearly got it. He sure matched the quality of the walnut!

Mystery FN Supreme. No Crest on front ring and no manufacturer's or Import marks other than Made in Belgium and FN, both below the wood line.
