Lee AKA redneck did a heck of a job on a 700. rifle is a real shooter. It's who I'd call.

I'd probably want to just order a Mcmillan stock and wait to get this before I pick a gunsmith to build for me. I mean McM stocks are what...a 6 month wait which is the longest wait of any part. And I like the barrels on sporter rifles...so if I was to order a McM do I just specify a sporter barrel channel? It's been a while since I ordered a McM stock so when I do pull the plug and order I will probably come back with questions. Good idea.. To those that stated Redneck name...I thought I somewhere he only works on M70 actions...I must be getting up there trying to remember everything. Not 'only', just 'mostly'...

New to the forum, but have read here for years.
If I was needing an action worked over (a pet peeve of mine to say blueprint cause who's blueprint is it?) and a barrel chambered and screwed on, Long Rifles Inc used to be very quick and very good. I haven't shot any of my rifles since late last year, but I had Chad build a 223AI for me early in 2016. Ridiculously accurate rifle. I am lucky in that I do all my stock work so don't need those services.
There are other very good builders out there and many mentioned already have a stellar reputation.

I have a 280 ai that Kevin Weaver built and a 6.5 creedmoor built by Score high ( Charley Robertson ) and both are fantastic.

If there is one thing almost every modern day gunsmith can do, it is to work on a Remington 700. If you were looking to build on a 1908 DWM Mauser, the list would be somewhat shorter. GD
