I don't know anything about them other than they're cool.
What's an artillery Luger?

Before I left the shop, kid came in one day with such a rig. Said it was surrendered to his great grandfather in France, from the German officer for whom it was issued to, 11/12/18. He also had ggrapappys 1911. The complète rig was pristine. Nicest you could ever see!

I have a DWM German Luger that my father sent home from Germany during WWII. Most of my life it has been my most 'prized possession'.
It came in a leather military holster with buckled flap, takedown tool, and extra magazine. Also in the 'stash' is a leather shoulder holster with straps that I shortened to fit my 11 year old frame. Also included, is a beautiful leather 'Western Cowboy' style holster, made especially for a German Luger.
Lot's of other 'treasures' in that duffle bag - A beautiful engraved Luftwaffe dress dagger, fancy sheath and tassel, a chromed blade German bayonet, and cased German war medals. I started shooting my Luger (surreptitiously) when I was still in grade school as my father stayed in the Army after the War and didn't come home.
Still proud of him though - - My mother always spoke well of him . . .
check those mags and see if they are numbered to the gun, mucho importante. i should add those holsters in some cases are pretty pricy depending on who made it.

Have a nice byf 41 with all the markings. Fun to shoot, but it's one gun I own that I'm glad it CAN"T talk. It'd be fine if it could talk, as long as you don't speak German you wouldn't have a clue what it was saying.

Dads stepfather had a Luger and an MP40 that were brought back from the war. The Luger lived on his bedside cabinet and the MP40 was leaning against it, both were loaded all the time. As kids we knew not to touch them unless he gave them to us. We used to play with the Luger a lot but only ever got to handle the MP40 a couple of times. He took to them both with a gas axe after a visit from the police who had come to the wrong house. From their front door you looked straight along the passageway to the bedroom so they were in view, he panicked and thought the cop must have seen them, took them to the railway workshop and cut them up then threw them in the harbour.
