Did Winchester chamber a 25-06 in a pre 64?

Per Wikipedia:
The .25-06 had been a wildcat cartridge for half a century before it was standardized by Remington in 1969....

Every blue moon you will see a pre-64 M70 in 25-06 that was originally a 250-3000 or a 257 Roberts. Rechambering was very popular in the 50s and 60s.

Could it be from the custom shop and chambered for the 25/06, even though it was still a wildcat at the time?

I have seen more rechamberings to 257WBY than 25-06, back in the 90s I saw a 35 Whelen, but cant remember it if was originally a 35REM or 358WIN

Having owned several standard grade .257 Roberts I recently acquired a pre '64 Featherweight whose previous owner fitted a Douglass .257 Roberts barrel in the original contour. Never understood Winchester not offering the Roberts in the pre '64 Featherweight. Gonna take this one whitetail hunting this season.

I had my std pre 64 30-06 rebarreled to 25-06 in mid 80's. Great gun. the 06 bbl had already been cut, and I wanted that extra 25 yds of range.

I have a pre-War Model 70 in .25-06, certainly not original. At age 15 in the summer of 1964, I saved a little money from part-time work. $72.50 of it went to buy a Model 70 in .30-06. Bore had some light pitting, but it shot pretty well and I shot it a lot. In the spring of '65, a gunsmith chambered a Douglas 26" varmint-weight barrel in .25-06 and fitted it to the action. This was several years before Remington commercialized the cartridge, though I bought a box of Remington .25-06 ammo around 1972 to see if it would work in my gun. Worked perfectly, no headspacing or other problems. I'm not much of a .25-06 fan anymore, but it was really a popular wildcat in the 'sixties. I still have the rifle. It's fitted with a 10X Unertl. Remains very accurate despite lots of rounds through it.
