I have a Nosler M48 Trophy Grade rifle. It has a factory "rifle basics" trigger that has significant creep and feels set at about 3.5-4 pounds. I have a few questions...
Can a decent smith adjust this trigger to 2.5-3 lbs WITH NO CREEP?
If not? What model Timney would I need that would fit the Nosler rifle? (Howa, Vanguard, etc???).
Lastly, what would you do, if you were me, to get a crisp quality trigger?
Love the rifle, hate the trigger....

A Rifle Basics trigger should be adjustable to 2.5-3 pounds with no creep, just like a Timney. Been a while since I have worked on one but to the best of my memory they adjust like a Timney, rear screw is sear engagement (creep) and the bottom screw in front is pull weight and the top screw is over travel.
To get the minimum creep and stay safe, have the bolt in the empty rifle, cocked. Screw the sear engagement screw in until the firing pin drops, then back the screw out a quarter to half turn.
