Got my Lightfoot's split adapter today for a Stith Mount. Mounted the scope but hasn't been sighted in yet. Settled on a 2.5X Weaver with fine cross hairs and a dot reticular. Have a 3x with a post reticular that I might try also but I think I'm going to like the 2.5X better. Thanks Lightfoot

Most of the pictures I've seen with the savage99 and stith mount place the end of the scope just ahead of the wooden "V" on the side of the stock. I'm not an expert in this area by any means and this only the 2nd time I've messed with putting a scope on any rifle and in the past I've always used iron sights. So I don't have much experience and always open to ideas. The 3X scope has a larger view but doesn't allow as much for seeing your surroundings like the 2.5X does (the outer view and scope view sort of blend in without the scopes outer ring being a distraction), perhaps this is wrong thinking on my part but if the target isn't within the scope view yet it makes it easier to zero into the target.

Yes, very nice looking and thanks for putting up the pictures. Besides the obvious, the beauty of Lightfoot's ring is that you can use a variable power scope. Something like a "vintage" 1.5-5 Weaver or Redfield might be a thought.
