Taken while out chasing blacktails yesterday. Husqvarna H-5000. It's a lightweight 30-06 on a commerical small-ring Mauser action, but Leupold's version of the Hubble Space Telescope makes it far heavier than necessary. This one will probably get a fixed 4x before long. Okie John

Okie John, that rain doesn't look a bit fun.. I hate hunting in the rain.. But it is a good time to hunt.. Maybe the only time with blacktails..

Not quite a fence post but just a few weeks old. Win M70 416 Remington with JimWisner front and rear sights and Talley QD's dropped into a McM magnum filled Winchester Express stock.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

New stainless T3x in 7mm-08. Sent it to Kampfeld and had the barrel bobbed to 21" and partially fluted (something a bit different if only for aesthetics). Found a rockin deal on a Trijicon 3-9x40 with green mil-dot reticle in the classifieds (thanks sdbrown3). Talley extra lows . The stock was replaced with a donor T3 takeoff I picked up cheap. Slimmed it down and removed the forearm texture and then sent it off for a hydrodip in Atacs Au. Comes in exactly at 7 lbs minus the sling. As soon as I have the bolt fluted should bring it in just a touch south of 7 lbs all up.

Kimber 8400 Montana .300 Win Mag with Nightforce SHV scope mounted in a Nightforce UltraLite Uni-Mount. It's a killer. Shortly after taking the first pic, I shot this buck so I decided to improvise .

Okie John, that rain doesn't look a bit fun.. I hate hunting in the rain.. But it is a good time to hunt.. Maybe the only time with blacktails.. You get used to the rain. I'll never get to the point where I enjoy it, but I look forward to it because it means the deer will be moving. Long story short, if you don't hunt blacktails in the rain, then you don't hunt blacktails. They just lay around and sleep when the sun is out. Okie John
