Hey guys, new member/first-time poster. Seems like a lot of google searches I’ve made about gun topics lead here, so I decided to join. I’m looking forward to learning more about hunting and shooting. I’m from Washington State and spend most of my free time fishing (mostly bass and walleyes). I have been shooting since I was a kid, but mostly plinking until I got older and began a career as an LEO where I’ve worked for the last 13 years. I’ve recently started shooting IDPA and am looking into more opportunities to expand on the firearms training I get at work. I’ve also started to get into reloading with my Dad. I’ve been hunting for small game since I was a kid but have only been hunting big game for a few years. It’s been humbling! I hope to learn more from you all.

Haha, I do like donuts. I can’t lie about that. My partners and I have a running joke. When we want to make a coffee or donut stop, we just say, “stereotypical time!”
I have a CZ 452 American in 17hmr that is my regular plinker/small game rifle. We can’t shoot squirrels here, but we can ground-sluice grouse. I bought a Tikka T3 Superlite in 223 from Sportsmans Warehouse. I’m pretty sure I got upsold into a Leupold Mark AR 3-9x, but it works great. Its the most accurate gun I’ve ever owned. I’ve been calling coyotes for a couple years and have killed half a dozen. Problem is that its never been while calling! Just incidental encounters.
When I first started hunting, I bought a used Model 70 Classic in 30-06. I’ve killed one blacktail, one mule deer, and one elk with it. As good as my Tikka shoots, I might buy another.

Part of the reason this site looked good was that people seem to give and take a little ribbing. I tried another site and it was really coombaya-ish.
Dang! Jackrabbit with a 460? Looks like it didn’t damage much on that side! What does the other side look like? Probably didn’t expand in that little guy.
