Well, cool and all... But not as cool as a few boys from Texas and a 10+ year old Ford GT doing 293.6 mph at the traps in just a mile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQXrO0caBRYSure, the Koenigsegg is a "production" car. So to speak. But when your annual output is measured in the 10s of vehicles and they cost millions of dollars, are they really "production"?? Heck our car ran through the traps at 330 mph with a mere 400 hp over 20 years ago

Hear the nitrous kick in at 200mph or so? Or is that a super charger? Or both?

Shrapnel, I knew your GTO could move but WOW! Seeing it on the same patch of road so soon after the other test run, Did you drive the GTO to the test?

RS There was definitely a power boost kicking in around 180, the computer may have simply limited engine power at lower speeds to keep from spinning the tires. Given the length of the run I doubt it was nitrous. The challenge with land speed racing is keeping the engine from grenading when running a 4 mile long course. Nitrous is seldom if ever used.

Must be Rt 50 outside Fallon Nevada? Awesome power!
Somewhat related, there is a great pair of pics in the NAS Oceana O’Club taken outside Fallon. One is from the ground with an F-16 flying by Very low and a street sign saying “Low Flying Aircraft.” The other is of the HUD in the F-16 and he’s indicating something crazy like 800kts.

Nothing compares.....nothing.

My daughter and I were in the scaffolding at mile 5 on the 9 mile course. Amazing.

Nothing compares.....nothing. I remember the first time I took my daughter to see Top fuel. Pomona on Thursday.......qualifying........$12. Pits included and no crowds. She was10-11.. She was getting bored in the stands when we saw the Top Fuel roll toward the lights. We didn’t saw anything. Just took her down and made our was as close as you could get. Yes hearing protection. Lol They launched and I caught her. Huge smile. She was hooked. One year one of the guys launched her in their Healey. 509 Chevy with Lenkos. 8 second car in its day. Good kid.
