Anyone else have Venison flare their gout up? I've recently started to notice if I eat too much (Or have my old traditional meal of just meat, no veggies or sides...) that my gout flares from it. Any ideas to make it better?

I've known a few who've regularly succumbed to gout as a consequence of venison hunting season.

After I started taking Uloric daily, my gout has been under control. I can eat pretty much anything.

Alipurinal ??? Keeps mine in check. Peanuts and pinto beans will set mine off if I'm not taking my scrip.

Cherry juice doesn't do squat for me... allipurinol is pretty handy though....

Along with the myraid of other medical concerns, same happens to wifey. Hence about the only game i bring home is elk( mainly for me!), and amall shoats. She will eat elk but only in small doses. She likes it, it just treats her wrong. She drinks tart cherry juice every morning and she hasnt had to use her Clocrys or annipurionol (sic) here lately. She swears by tart cherry juice. Has to be the tart variety to work.

I swear by Malbec! wink

I had gout for the first time last winter. I did a lot of reading up on it and one of the worst meats you can eat is venison. I'm not sure how it effects me because I've been on allipurinol ever since.

I've had the same problem eating vension, beef and shellfish until the doctor put me on Uloric. I've been on Uloric for 4 years now and haven't had a flare up and can eat anything without it messing with the big toe.
