Get that bolt handle anchored so it won't fall off.. yep! And I better have a Sako extractor installed while I'm at it! Plus it has a Walker trigger in it, so it could easily just go off....all on its own!

A light charge of RL15 moving a 150 interlock at 2675 is very accurate and feels like a pop gun in my rifles...

Front sight and windage-adjustable mounts, at the same time?? No way that's going to kill anything. But yes, never shoot a 700 donor. The 243's are known for being the most devious of the breed.........
Now with even more aplomb

Yep, took me a while, but after years of watching friends and family kill bambi with 300 sav in 99's and 760's I realized I could duplicate in my big guns.

Its this reason why people say don't shoot the donor. The cheap Remington's that many of us rip apart just flat work.
Move forward and kill stuff! I've told this on here before, but I'll tell it again. Several years ago, Walmart ran a Black Friday deal on their 700 ADL's, and after a Remington rebate, I had way less than $300 a piece in them. I bought 2, a 24 inch barreled 243 and a 243 Youth model. Right out of the box, nothing but a trigger job, they both shot less than an inch at a 100 with 85 grain Sierra's. I've since worked up loads for both, and they've completely renewed my interest in the 243. I don't care what anyone says, Remington's will shoot.

But " screaming deal" is the operative phrase, and I'm a rifle whore. Very well, then - carry on, Mr. Bell. But God forbid anyone dangles a "too cheap" .270 in front of you. FC

With a true appreciation for what the .300 Savage can do, and a growing attachment to a certain .300 WM in the safe, I'm looking at doing the same thing. FC

Money shot.....oh damn that's funny. Tupperware can be underestimated. My 48 year old Tupperwared M70 270 stuck a 130 Partition and 2 Fusions in the same hole Sunday.
I just packed it up and backed away slowly.....

Smash that rifle against a rock and break it in right. It will give you something to spend your time on. My first centerfire was a Rem 700 BDL that I bought new in the box around 1975. It came with a leather sling and I paid $135.00 for it. I still have the rifle and the sling. Two years ago my son and I hunted Black Bears with hounds. I blew the dust off of it, removed the scope and sighted it in with the open sights. He took a treed Bear with it and I thought that was the damn coolest thing. I never thought what the future would hold for that rifle when I proudly carried it out the door of a local gun shop.
I used it for years and killed my biggest buck with it. Somewhere along the line I had to have a lot of other chamberings and rifles, so it got put way back in the safe until my son used it..
Faith and love of others knows no mileage nor bounds. That's simply the way it is. dogzapper

Ingwe - "and a money shot paint job...." Question - does that help prevent the butt from slipping off your shoulder ? Inquiring minds want to know? Homesteader

The 243's are known for being the most devious of the breed......... The Windage adjustable mounts are already gone... The front sight stays..keeps the gun from slipping in'African Carry' which I do quite a lot...
