1st week of ML season this week. Wife read a little bit of an article in the recent Field & Stream that said 'Hunt all day on the 10th of November'

Well, I made it till 8am. T/C Impact 50cal with 250gr SST. Shot was maybe 20 yards, took out the heart but she still made it a little sporty and ran about 70 yards into the thick sheit. Hadn't been in there this fall and it's loaded with rubs. Hopefully when the rut gets kicking in a few weeks things will get fun.

Damn dog wouldn't let be get her hung, he grabbed hold of her neck when I was trying to hoist her. They get more excited about a kill than I do.

I should have been out this AM but it seems as I get older I generally miss the day after a kill. Still deciding if I can let her hang another day. It was 30 last night, will be 60 today and about 42 tonight.

I had the same issue, but now that I found a reliable, affordable processor, I can just take them in and go hunting some more. I was spending about half what he charges for vaccuum bags alone, plus a lot of my time. If she's in the shade, I'd not worry, except about flies, maybe.

If I have a long drag though, I probably need a day or so to catch my breath.
