No, just kidding. Congratulations on having a fine 99, what caliber? Refinishing? Do whatever you have experience with. Start with sandpaper to remove what's there, and let the new finish get into the wood instead of laying on top of old finish.

Don't sand too much. Steam the crap out of any dents and if you do use sandpaper stay away from from any margins that butt up to the metal less you end up with the wood looking conspicuously lower than the metal. Green's stripper or Jasco may take off the factory finish. I've found that Murphy's Soap used straight up can be pretty aggressive without doing any damage to the wood. For finishing, I like Chem-Pak Pro Custom Oil Finish. It's pretty thin and with care you can keep the majority of the finish in the wood and not built up on the surface. Best of luck!
