I just bought a cherry Stevens Favorite, Model 1915. It is the take-down model. Have some questions about it. When the gun is cocked, ready to fire, should the lever hang freely? I'm thinking something is broke in there. Seems like the lever should snap back up the same as an 1885. I have never handled any of them until I bought this one.

Wisner I believe has a fix for that. I think that is where I bought mine.

Are there any specific tools required to disassemble?

Good screwdrivers and a bit of patience.

A Favorite is much easier to take apart than an 1885 etc...

That is my intention actually. Get a custom mount for a Burris Fast Fire, hit the squirrel woods & leave my 10/22 at home.
