Starting from scratch...Lapua and Alpha brass have ruined me for much else in different rounds. Any brand beside Lapua making top-notch 30-06 brass?

I've been pleasantly surprised at Hornady. Been shooting it in my 308 for about a year. It is really good. Before that I shot it in my 375 Ruger. I liked it so much I bought some for my 300 WSM and 30-06. I'll send you down some 30-06 if you want to compare/play with it.

Where are you finding the best price on Lapua and Alpha? I've not shopped around based on price, availability was my focus at the time. I've only ordered Alpha through Alpha...and only 6.5 CM. They were the first to get it when they made it. Very happy with it. I've ordered Lapua 243 and 260 from a couple of different places again, based on availability, not price.

I believe I've got hornady, winchester, and remington fired 06 brass, may have some new. New rifle that I thought I'd go fresh with. It will probably be spring before I get serious with it...but you're welcome to come down test it out (Fieldcraft)....just leave me the formed brass

I bought some Hornady brass for both my '06' and my .308. The '06' brass weighs 177.5 grs. vs. 193.5 for WW, 202.5 for Federal and 185.5 for PPU. None of it would last long, even with less than full power loads. The case heads would crack, just ahead of the extractor rim, after 3-4 loads with it. Federal shoots the same loads many times, as in 8 plus and still is useable. WW has lasted almost as well. Using both WW, Rem., Federal in my M70, .308, again it doesn't hold up as long. It lasts two loads in my M!A. PPU, on the other hand, goes at least four loads, which are all full lenth resized. No more Hdy brass for me. E
