It's being reported the three UCLA basketball players, who were caught stealing sunglasses from a store in China, have been released and will be flying home. This due, in part, to intervention by the White House. This is just how we want diplomatic currency to be spent; to gain the release of three arrogant, entitled punks who represent their school by shoplifting. Trump should have offered to help pay for their incarceration. GD

Compared to Trump's arranging the release of three college basketball players caught stealing designer sunglasses in China, Obama's negotiating the release of captured Army deserter Berghdahl in exchange for the release of 5 high risk top Taliban commanders is so far beyond the old 'Said the Pot to the Kettle' idiom that even 'Said the Saucepan to the Cauldron' still falls way short.

They will be greeted as conquering heros by a fawning liberal press and the socialist progressive university student body and staff.

I know they won't be but they should be released from the team...for at least this season. If they want to show they can be model citizens, they can return next year and try out or go some place else. That said, these three ball players became political pawns the second they were arrested. So the entire situation needs to be viewed from a international politics perspective. Big panda wins by releasing them to the USA. Trump wins by securing their release.

How their university deals with it is another matter altogether but remember- we're taking the word of the ChiCom government these kids are thieves (very likely). Regardless, win-win for Xi and Trump to work to secure their release. Hopefully these idiot players get the smackdown from the university. If they were just normal American citizens they'd be in commie lockup for a long while. They're all black, and players for a D1 ball team.
