I like "V's",so figured I'd order a Vudoo V-22 and because I couldn't get a Blued Factory barrel on it and like "B's",I opted for a Bartlein. Was worried about it being heavy,so asked for 18",figuring in 22LR it'll still go 2000fps. Thoughts?

Though I do not know what a contour is,I do like "S's" so went with a Specter,if only for Phil. They asked me about MOA's and I didn't know what that means, but ordered 30 of 'em,figuring I could sell any spares that got in the way. Wanted a Blued trigger, but could only find them in Stainless, but luckily it will be hid where it can't be seen. I don't like "O's" so only ordered 2 Ounces.

Was hoping to nab a Spruce stock(light/strong),but because I like "M's" I ordered one of them there MacaMillion's in Anti-Kneel coloration, which is an Old Glory fade in a Medium Weight, because I like "M's" as mentioned prior. Have never had a scope before, but because scope starts with "S" and I like "S's" anyhow,I ordered one of them there S/S's the Texans like to brag up. Never did like "X's" so only got (10) of them. I'm not sure what the rings are,but they've got alotta screws in 'em and I like "S's",plus they take shingles in the middle.

I hope to have a gun that will shoot 1" or so at 25yds,because that sounds like fun to me.

Good talk,I am learning a bunch.

Thank you.

I guess any gun still in the locker when I go hunting was bought just for the hell of it...but so far, that tag must go to the 30-06 ruger hawkeye std, my only wood stocked rifle, that's never gone into the woods hunting...love the way it looks.

I'm thinking maybe just for the hell of it, I should pick up a nice #2 1/2 contour 24" barrel in 8x57 and build that 98 action I've got in the safe. Save my pennies and have it Robar finished and drop it into the Fajen wlanut stock next to the safe...

JM stamped Marlin 1894 in 357 mag.

Must be just fun to shoot and play with, from tin cans, squirrel hunting to 50-75 yard deer. Put a 2.5x scope on it, and start shooting.

Maybe a Winchester /Miroku 1894 in 38-55; short rifle configuration

I've bought many rifles "just for the hell of it," the most recent being a Swiss K31 7.5x55. I'll shoot it for awhile and likely move it on down the line to make room for another rifle I'll buy "just for the hell of it."

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I have used that JFTHOI line pretty frequently but at the moment I still want;

Marlin 30 TK .30-30,

Winchester 1886 Superlight in .33 Win

Ruger Stainless Gunsite Scout No 8622 18" barrel with the stock changed to the LW version. 16" is too short for a .308 imho

A few of the last firearm purchases, that were "just for the hell of it" are still here - one 20+ years after the purchase.
"The Warden" decided she liked the way they feel - and appropriated them! smile

I've got a hankering for a 375 H&H. It would have to be walnut/blue of course, and CRF. First choice would be a Pre 64 Model 70, but a Mauser or high quality Mauser clone would do. I have no need whatsoever for one and probably won't ever hunt anything that would necessitate a rifle that large, but it would be nice to dream about using it on a hunt in Alaska or Africa.

I would like to have another Marlin 336RC "Marauder" in 35 Rem. I have owned two in my life and sold both during hard times. I would like to come across another one some day. I don't really need one as I have 30-30s and 44 Mag rifles that fill the niche, but want one just for the hell of it.

I inherited a pre-64 featherweight 30-06. Every rifle I've bought since that one has been for the hell of it...Most have been Model 70s of some sort.

I was thinking about building a lightweight .280 AI, stainless, synthetic, to hunt everything, everywhere. When I got it back from the gunsmith, it was a .404 Jeffery on an Interams action, blued with an H-S Precision stock. Still don't know how that happened. crazy
