I'm in the single malt camp. Lagavulin, Glenmorangie, et al.

Anyone ever have Glen Ord? It's good stuff but ya can't get it in the States.

Not much of a whiskey drinker, but when I buy, I try to buy whiskey made in Bardstown, KY. Jim Beam, Makers Mark, or Heaven Hill. I like to support Bardstown ever since I read about it in a history of the Vietnam War. Bardstown had the highest per capita losses in the Vietnam War of any city/town in America, partly because the local Guard unit WAS called up, and was in a firebase that was attacked. I was in Lexington on business one day many years ago, and rented a car specifically to drive to Bardstown, and see the monument to the fallen, at the County Courthouse, or City Hall, I can't remember which. It was a legal building at the town square, anyway. This was before the Wall in Washington, at least in my memory.

Old Weller 107. Since I started bringing it to camp, no one touches the Crown anymore. Been a bottle sitting there for the last 2 years untouched. Only problem with Weller is the evaporation factor. Seems to just melt out of the bottle! TM

TM,

Quit talking about the 107! If everybody finds out the price will go up. Good stuff.

Rebel Yell is the mainstay but I usually bring George Dickel.

Tullemore Dew (Irish), and Yukon Jack to give my cousin a hard time.

if it's gotta be brown burn, I dunno, it's kind of Canadian Windsor country up here, but I've recently taken a shine to EJ. Crown is great, but a little rich for my blood.

But you have to keep some captain around... he aint whisky... but he's a lot of fun & easy to deal with the next morning... low overhang factor...

For me, it is any good single malt scotch followed by Crown although I may have to try the 107. If I'm back in PA, I drink Yuengling lager or B&T as I can't get it in GA.

Northern Dave, Bottle isn't photoshopped. I took the photo last weekend with every intention of posting it here, just seemed appropriate to have a "campfire" picture. Pic was taken near Karlstad MN, sort of your neck o the woods.

Agreed. Maybe I'm a bore. My camp is dry. If you don't like that,,,,,,,,,,,,,I'll hunt alone. Much much safer that way.

What ever Bourbon is in the plastic bottle...not going to carry it in and then have a mistake ruin a perfectly good friendship because partner broke the whiskey :-) Old Crow works in the bush, at home by the fireplace it's Booker

Camp I belong to is on the NY/PA border. Jim Beam is always on the menu for celebration, with Makers Mark if someone is feeling real sporty. A sip of either one tastes awfully good at the end of the day..

Elmer T Lee and Van Winkle 12 year are my go to Bourbons! When I am out at a regular joint it Johny Walker Black or Wild Turkey.
Drank Dickels # 8 for awhile but can't find it here in NYC. I love #12 for a before dinner treat.

Just getting into the Single Malts. I like Cragganmore so far. I used to drink Glenlivet as well
