1. some guests will attend more than one Thanksgiving, this weekend
2. all the traditional sides are at least as good with hog as with bird
3. it's an AMERICAN holiday- no Muslims need apply
4. the leftovers will convert to posole & pork green chili, not nasty casseroles and turkey hash
5. all that's required for resounding success is that it tastes better than turkey- it's a sure bet!

Where I'm going there will be fried turkey, pork roast and beef roast with very little leftover. I'll have to move fast after we eat to get anything for a take home plate.

Works for me. I'm having ham, but rumor has it that a smoked turkey will show up too. Enjoy!

I’m going to roast a 110 dressed weight hog tomorrow, today we will feast on fresh turkey. Might gain some weight this weekend.

Number 6 was he didn't kill a turkey, so he's got to eat something else.

Just kidding.....nothing wrong with roast pork at all.

I have a leg of lamb out on the grill. About 2 more hours.
We raise a few turkeys so they aren't a treat. They're just meat.

This year is the first in five or so years that we decided to have turkey. I am not a big fan of the bird.

We're at our lake house in Central Mo. enjoying a beautiful day and sipping some fine California Red Wine and have a very good Malbec coming up for dinner shortly... now it's our own brand of Hot Dip and Torttillas chips for snackies. Main course will be a rather large and good looking Porterhouse getting to room temp now. Going on the grill about 4:00. Brussel Sprouts for the veggie and fresh baked dinner rolls. Haven't done any turkeys since our parents passed on.

Easy...........Tear it apart, slap it on a piece of bread, dump some Frank's on it, cover with another piece of bread........Enjoy.
