Don't own one, but have thought about picking up one of the short barrel bird's head grip models. From what I've read, they are ugly, the "safety" doesn't win praise, but they go BANG and are relatively accurate. So, for $100 you can't go wrong. Just remember, they aren't a $500 Ruger Single Six. So carry it out in the rain and abuse it.
I bought one about 4 months ago for a snake gun, planned on just using it to shoot birdshot. Of course I had to give it a try with some miscellaneous ammo I had and I was pleasantly surprised at the function and accuracy, the trigger on this one is surprisingly good. I am pretty sure the frame is a casting of some sort, I was surprised at the weight of it which is about the same as any other 4-5/8" barreled single action - but then I am used to my Colt Frontier Scout which has an alloy frame.
The downside is that they have the typical single-action type sights consisting of a groove in the top of the frame and a thin blade up front (I painted the blade with some yellow nail polish for better visibility). Anyway back to the story - I have some kids plastic blocks (about 1-1/2" square) and I can hit them regularly at 25 - 30 ft. offhand. If this is a representative sample I am impressed for the money - how wrong can you go for $99.

I got one. Yeah the safety is stupid but hey. Other than that it goes bang every time. I paid $130 otd for mine and got a bonus magnum cylinder with it. Mine is black with white grips. I like it a lot and it is very popular with my wife and kids.
They are good solid pistols, not fancy at all. Unfortunately they are prone to breaking trigger/bolt springs and hand springs. Go ahead and buy a spare of both and you will be covered.
Academy Sports usually has them on special for black friday.
If you bought a Taurus PT 111, I think it was, you get a free Heritage .22 revolver

That one had a bent hammer and I missed it somehow when I looked it over. It wasn't bad but it bothered me. I sent pics in to Taurus and they wanted me to send the whole gun in on my dime. Well that wasn't an option for me so I worked them over long enough that they finally sent me a new hammer. It's as perfect as a Rough Rider can be now!
I've played with and shot a handful of them. They are a cheap revolver. However, all except for one that I've messed with has been accurate and reliable. I'd say for the price you can't go wrong... But don't expect it to be a ruger single six.
