But, but, but how else will we ever attain Utopia?

Don’t worry about Liberals. You need to pay attention to the Progressives, of which many under 30 identify with. The Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren’s of the Left are the final movement to Socialism. The resist Trump is fueled by the Progressives, not the Liberals.

Would you like to just keep explaining the problem or do you want the solution?

I am not that good a historian, but I am starting to think Lyndon Johnson was the worst president the USA ever had.

Conservative thinking withered a bit when the education opportunity known as the draft was ended. There is nothing quite so clear and pointed as combat to instill conservative mindset.
I am..........disturbed.

"A lack of limiting principles allowed Lyndon Johnson to put the administrative state, that began with FDR, on steroids with the implementation of his Great Society programs that, in turn, gave us the modern American welfare state. It is a monster that has been devouring the country ever since."
Good read. The question is, how do we turn back the devouring monster?

Good read. The question is, how do we turn back the devouring monster? You can't. Public Education has carried the work of the Communists. The next generation has been fully brain-washed. Through attrition of the old guard America, as we remember it, will be lost.

Getting rid of the old, "Something for nothing", notion would be a start.

Russell Kirk and William F. Buckley are considered the fathers of modern conservatism. They put forth primarily the principles of smaller government, lower taxes, individual accountability, and prudence, among others (in opposition to the collectivist welfare state).
These principles haven't change in over fifty years, and you can actually go back farther... Haven't changed in over fifty years? Really? Well, if they haven't changed, then they've certainly been violated constantly left and right by Republican politicians who are cheered on by Republican rank-and-file. Sheesh. Smaller government? Oh, but big enough to start another stupid war every couple of weeks, big enough to prevent gay marriage, big enough to control what people voluntarily put into their own bodies, big enough to own most of the land in the Western US, big enough to dictate the size of people's fricking toilet tanks, fer Pete's sake?! Nah, I see through the whole "conservatives are superior to liberals" smoke screen. Conservative and liberal politicians are all statists who work like the two pins in a Hi-Lift bumper jack to alternately gain ever more and more power for the government, and conservative and liberal ordinary people are the chumps they constantly scare into pumping the handle. Liberals certainly have their logical problems and inconsistencies to paper over, but I'm not sure they have a single one that's as big and bleedingly obvious as the conservatives' consistent fantasy about the existence of such a thing as a "small-government politician." If the world weren't desperately sick, anyone who ever spoke earnestly of a small-government politician would instantly be laughed out of polite company and never taken seriously again. Hi-Lift bumper jacks have that release lever that yanks out both pins and makes the tongue fall down the rail to the base, but governments don't. Governments don't make themselves smaller; outside influences make governments smaller. If you're really a conservative, then sure, keep doing what your kind has been doing for hundreds of years to get us where we are today; but if you're interested in smaller government, then wake up, spit out the pap, and start influencing from outside. PS - You know why politicians are so earnest about convincing you that it's your civic duty to vote? Because they know that's the one pursuit that's guaranteed to have no effect on anything important, and as long as you concentrate on that you'll stay conveniently out of their way.
"But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain--that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist." --Lysander Spooner, 1867

This paragraph right here sums it up.
Everything liberals and liberalism stands for masks its real objective of seeking and maintaining political power. It is a con and a deception, where millions have fallen for its contrived and manufactured objectives based on accepting it at face value.
