With Remington possibly going out, what rifles have you bought lets say in the last 10 years besides Remington. Just want to see what others are buying thats putting Remington out of business.
Tikka 30/06 stainless Tikka blued 223. TC venture 270 Sauer 100 classic 9.3x62 DPMS TPR AR 223 CZ 527 in 7.62x39 CBC AR in 7.62x39 Ruger American 22LR
Used, Ruger 44mag carbine
Bought and sold Henry golden boy 22, HR 223 single shot. Savage 375 Ruger

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Only two - a BACO (yeah, I know - I know) M70 SG in 7mm Mauser and a Ruger M77-22M SS/Walnut... To date, I've only run ONE round down the M77... I NEED some trigger time..

New rifles would be Ruger far and away in the majority - 10/22's, a couple of No. 1's, some 77's and a couple of RAR's, a couple of Tikkas, one LH Winchester M70 as an impulse buy since it was found in a small shop at a great price.
Haven't bought a single new Remington within that 10 year time frame, and have sold three or four I did have.
Several used rifles - one older LH Remington model they haven't made in 25 years (700 FS), old milsurps, a Winchester and a couple of Marlin levers but they wouldn't subtract from Remington sales since Remington didn't/wouldn't have anything comparable.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

I have owned only 1 Remington in my life. That was close to 50 years ago. Never again. Browning, Winchester and Ruger has been what I buy. Two Browning's this year. The only thing I have bought that says Remington on it is a couple boxes of .444 240 grain Express.

For bolt guns it would be: WR Pape 256 Mannlicher Gustave Genschow Mauser 98 10.75x57 Mannlicher Schoenauer 1908 8x56 Winchester Model 70 pre 64 converted to left hand 308 Norma Husqvarna 9.3x57
Haven't really got anything against Remington but haven't found many in recent years that sparked my interest. There was a brief dalliance with a model 7 a few years ago and a recent acquisition of a 581 left hand. I bid on a couple of 721's that were converted to left hand but was outbid at the last minute. Bid way out of my comfort zone on a beautiful, lefty 700 243 I wanted for a donor rifle, but ended up outbid on it. I don't buy much in the way of new guns. Last new one was a Ruger Bisley 480. Haven't bought a new rifle in a long time. I don't foresee any Remington purchases in the near or distant future. They're just not making stuff that makes my heart go pitter patter.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Things have definitely reversed - I was a solid Remington man for decades, ever since I was 14 and got an 1100 and a Nylon 66. During that time I wouldn’t take a Ruger bolt action if you gave it to me. I bought one, a heavy barrel .25-06 tanger in the early 80's and it wouldn’t hold a 2” group for love nor money – that’s what soured me on them.
Now it’s just the opposite. I have to talk myself out of redundant Ruger bolt actions that I don’t need and don’t even look at the new Remingtons. I do have four older LH Model 700’s - two long and two short actions - and would be loathe to sell any of them, they will get rebarreled as needed until death do us part.

I can only recall three Remington rifles I’ve ever bought, two 700’s and a Nylon 66. Oops, let’s make that one more, forgot the 788 I bought in 1967. To put it in perspective, I’ve always felt that a real American male should have at least one firearm for every year of his age and I’m 69. I’ve got to say, Remington doesn’t seem to make a lot that interests me, but the ones I’ve got give good service.

I’m down to 3 Remingtons. 2 788’s and the 700 I got when I was 16. Now I buy mostly Savage since I don’t mind the looks of them, usually cost less and shoot better.
