So as luck would have it, I just won a Browning X-bolt Hells Canyon Long Range rifle in the caliber of my choice!!! Considering the available calibers and wanting to get something I don’t already own, I’ve narrowed it down to 6mm Creedmoor, 26 Nosler, 7mm Mag, or 28 Nosler. I already have a range of calibers to cover any game animal out there. What should I choose? Also, does anyone have any experience with these rifles?
Thanks!

Get a 26 Nosler, you won’t regret it.

I have both 26 Nosler and 28 Nosler. 28 Nosler is bout as good as it gets.

a bud of mine has a new hells canyon in 6.5 creed and said it was the most accurate rifle he owns (and he owns over 50-60 i'd guess}. that said, the 26 nosler sounds equally good.

Hard choice between the Creed and the 26. I feel your pain. (grin)

For that rifle, my first choice (of those) would be the 28 Nosler. That gives you the horsepower to take anything that walks from any distance most can shoot.

Creedmoor. Lots of very accurate factory load offerings. Easy to shoot.

I’d probably go 28 Nosler. Any game within reason near or far.

Of the 4 you list I'd choose the 6.5 CM without a doubt. 2nd place would go to the standard 7MM Mag.

As a full time gunsmith with 50 years of experience I have learned a lot about various chambers in rifles and the ones that can be called "super overbore" are by far the least impressive to me considering what you get from them in the real world of hunting VS the cost of ammo(even reloaded) and the cost of new barrels on a regular basis.

Always remember it's the man 98% and the gun 2%. The mans ability to practice a LOT with his tools makes him better, not buying a new tool. If that new tool becomes so expensive because of it wearing out fast, the man can't practice very much within a given budget.

I have one customer, a dedicated long range shooter, who has had me re-barrel his 300 Ultra Mag 4 times now in 3 years and finally came to the realization I was right when I told him he should not buy it. He sold it and had me make him a 308 Norma last year. He's FAR happier with it and the lack of a bit of velocity is not limiting him at all in comparison to the former ultra-mag.

Based on your list I'd go with the 28 Nosler.

I’d go 6.5 Creed or 26 Nosler. I’ve read a few good reports on those rifles but haven’t handled one myself. Congratulations!

Of your list, I'd pick the 6.0 Creedmag because it's the only one with a 22" barrel. All the others have 26".
Otherwise, I'd consider the 6.5 CM or the 7-08.

I already have a custom 6.5 CM that I'm very pleased with...this would be a 6mm...I like the 7RM for the reasons you mentioned among other things, but there is just something about those Nosler's that makes me want one.

...................................................Based on your comments, you currently don't have a 6mm, 6.5mm or a 7mm...............I have a MRC 28 Nosler, so I guess I am partial to the 28 Nosler. Cannot comment on the Browning Hells Canyon x bolt, but from what feedback I read about 'em they are very good rifles.

Don't know what to tell you on which cartridge to choose. But if long range is in your rep---eee---twaa, then you cannot argue against either the 26 or 28 Nosler....However and for now, if you are not a reloader, you can walk into just about any ammo shop at any location and buy 7mm Rem mag ammo.
