Does anyone know if the Ruger #3 used the same contour barrel as the 1A or was it a different contour specially done for the #3?

Now that is surprising. I've been looking at the one in the Classifieds here and also a few on gunbroker and those barrels look very thin, more like something on a 10/22 carbine, probably due to the way the forends on both are styled.
Now that RJ isn't doing his conversions anymore I've been brainstorming ideas for the next "why the heck not?" project that a local guy might take on.

I keep hoping RJ will call and say that he changed his mind and will gladly take on our projects again....
Anyway, the No. 3's are B contours and threaded the same as the No. 1's.

Jim if you have measurements I have a couple that I can measure to see if they are the same a 375 and a 44 mag
