Wondering if someone can recommend somebody to do a custom wood stock for a Rem 700 SA. Looking for something in the classic style.....strait comb without cheek piece and ADL if possible. What’s the best way to accomplish this with a second mortgage? I though maybe have a duplicator do the stock I want bases of a Kimber or some other stock that I have and then have it inleted for the action I am using?
Not looking for museum quality wood or a one off Checkering job.....just a decent piece of wood and laser cut basic Checkering? Thoughts?

I would go with Boyd’s.
If you want a stock made from scratch finished, checkered, etc it’s going to cost quite a bit.
Earlier this year I bought a Boyd’s laminated with checkering.
It’s quite nice and I believe it was under $250.

I guess I will call stockys.... by affordable I was thinking less than $2000. I was’nt aware stockys or Boyd’s could or would do custom work.

You might buy a stick of wood and send it to ramrod340. He is a member of this forum and does excellent stock duplication. Maybe he can suggest a stocker to finish it or maybe you could finish it yourself. He is very reasonable and does a top notch duplication.
