Well while in Kansas I voiced my desire to get a sendero in 300WM and my host was trying to unload a 300 RUM... shoot it a little he says, damn him! Went out on a breezy day and from a pack thrown in the dirt put 3 into a pizza box that could be covered with a quarter from 200 yards.
Well it is in my den now, sans scope. Any suggestions on glass would be appreciated, have looked at the Leupold 3x18 a bit as I've always had Leupolds. Budget would be best kept at <2K
My "long range" would be well under 600 and i would be more interested in increased accuracy at lesser range. Poking a whitetail through a hole in the brush for instance.
Any tweaking to the rig i should look into? It already had been worked on and along with the price this was part of why it came home with me, it has a timney trigger set at 8oz and a brake. I think the trigger needs to be pushed up some for hunting safety.

Do yourself a favor and skip anything Leopold, better choices for you to consider would be Nightforce or Bushnell's Elite series LRHS either the 3x12x44 or the 4.5x18x44!

Swarovski x5 . . . . and don't look back.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

I kinda got that idea when I saw reviews that couldn't tell the difference in hd vs. the old non-hd... except for doubling of the price! thanks I will look bushnell. jeffpie I have all winter to play on getting her set up, and yes, I want to only buy once on the big ticket items.

I’m generally not a turret twister but have been very satisfied with almost a dozen VX-6’s with the B&C reticle. Over the last thirty or so years, I’ve had one of about forty Leupolds go Tango Uniform and it was an older VX-III 1.75 -6X on a 338. It was repaired and back on my rifle in about ten days.

NXS, SWFA 3-9x42, or LRHS I’ll add LRTSi to the list. I’ve had the 3-12 LRHS since shortly after they came out and just recently got the 4.5-18 LRTSi. So far, it is every bit as good as the LRHS has been. John

I have 15 or 16 Leupolds, I’ve had no problems with them.
