Can this action be rebarrelled to 222 Remington, or will there be magazine follower, feedrail, etc. problems? Thanks for your help

It is 7.62x39 now

Bolt face is too large for the 222. 22-250 may work depending on mag dimensions

As said, the boltface is too large for the .222. Conversion to .22-250 can be done and may have even been a factory offering in the Mini Mauser. You could make a .22 PPC out of it.

I built one into a 6.5 Grendel and it was sweet.

Not with out a lot of work BUT it would make a dandy 22 PPC.

Do as I did on my 7.62X39 mini mauser. Chamber it in 220 Russian. Lots of brass available and is BR accurate.

Yep they came in 222. I would consider the 220 Russian. That rifle is sweet butch
