A few years back, a friend decided to build a Pre 64 M70 in 9.3x62, very similar to mine. Both rifles had metal work by Redneck. My friend has decided to sell his. Here is my friends email to me "Alan The barrel is a #3 PacNor put together by Lee (Redneck). I did have the throat lengthened a bit by Gene Simmion - I think we talked about your gun having the same issue. I have not shot it enough nor do I feel comfortable in saying what the accuracy is. I have shot factory stuff out of it and never tried to optimize it. And it has been several years ago that I bought it. I put together that gun during a manic phase of 24cf reading, thinking, etc. I really have never done the gun justice. The action is pre-64 winchester and the stock is normal weight Echols legend. Barrel length is 24 inches Action from a 30-06 pre-64 donor barrel/chambering by Lee Williams bottom metal Echols Legend standard weight stock I'd like to get $1800 + shipping." I'll be the one shiping the rifle, for my friend. My rifle is somewhat known, here on the CF. Mine was finished by Charlie Santoni of CS Sports. It's incredibly accurate with 250 Accubonds and 286 Partitions. Here is a link to my rifle. http://riflestockpainting.com/images/AG9362.jpg$1800 + shipping ($35) First public "i'll take it" followed by a PM gets the rifle.

Gorgeous rifle and work. Any idea what the LOP is and how much it weighs?
thanks,

If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

Some info for now. I'll post the rest later, hopefully today. I've got a rifle match this morning and an awards banquet later in the day.
Serial prefix... 947##, so I think the action is a 1947.
Weight, as seen in the picture is 8.1 lbs via our very accurate UPS scales at work.
PayPal Friends and Family or standard as long as the buyer pays the fees. Venmo. USPS money order. No personal or cashiers checks since they can be faked and take weeks to finally clear even though the bank might initially says it clears. Been there and had it done to me.
I'll try and find out more about the metal coating and LOP later today. I have a busy day ahead.
Alan

This just in from the seller.
"Alan,
Lee did a bead blast finish and blued it for me. He did the trigger etc.
Alex Sitman at Masterclass Stocks bedded the action and did the black finish on it. I'm pretty sure it has a 13.5 LOP. It has a 1 inch decelerator pad on it."

Built by Redneck
Stock designed by Echols, bedded by Alex Sitman.
Three of the very best in the business combined in one rifle. This is a heck of a deal!

Some more PM questions. Butt pad is 1" thick. Kick-eez and looks to be missing a small piece off the toe. I've sent an email to the owner, asking about it. Barrel is CM.
