John,

I just acquired some free bullets to test.

They are 9.3 USCP Sidewinders and thet tip the scales at 230 grns.

A CNC machined copper bullet with a 4 petal nose and a deep flared hollow point.

I looked up the .375 Scovill data on the Barnes site and they have some 230 data but was unsure if this was a good comparison.

What would you use for a starting point with these bullets?

Many thanks

Ted

Ted,

Assuming you want to try 'em in the 9.3x62, you might try loads for the 232-grain Norma Oryx. I list one with RL-15 in GUN GACK, which probably doesn't match Norma's data.

I just checked Norma's data, and they don't list RL-15 with their 232-grain bullets. Dunno why not, but I use 64.0 grains with the 232 Oryx, for 2700 fps and sub-inch accuracy with no problems in my CZ 550. Based on results with 250-grain bullets, I'd also bet that around 60 grains of Varget would work well.

Don't want to hijack this thread but since you mentioned CZ550 just wanted to ask if you ever had any issues with closing/opening the bolt on CZ550? Is the headspace usually very tight on those rifles? Any suggestions? Thank you!

No difficulties at all.

I've occasionally solved tight headspace problems on factory rifles by lapping the locking lugs.
