I’ve been holding off and it’s really getting to me now. Am I safe to assume this isn’t a fad any longer? My goals are a mid-size chambering I don’t have to reload for. I want just 1 rifle I can put factory fodder through and expect it to do it well. Not saying I’ll never reload for it like all my others but I want the simplicity of an accurate rifle with factory ammo. If this chambering is here to stay it may just be time for me to drink the Kool-aid!

Its no better or worse than a 260 or 6.5x55. Problem is, its hard to find a gun chambered in those two, especially stainless. So if you want a modern 6.5, you're kind of stuck with the creed....or you have to go custom.

I’ve been really drooling over the Kimber Open Country in 6.5C ... just never owned a Kimber long gun before and hear a lot of reports of them being hit & miss. My Kimber micro handgun has served me well and been reliable. Open to suggestions on other fine factory rifle offerings chambered in 6.5C. I like a rifle that weighs 8 to 8.5lbs fully equipped and prefer a 24” barrel.

Note to the world. If it's an Anzshootzs or Valquarztson misspelling is understandable but it's simply fuggin Creedmoor. As the OP got it right, go for it.

It’ll be a gamble.
Wait another 10 yrs to make sure it isn’t a fad.
Or grab one of the $350 RAR from Whitaker’s and give her hell.

RickyBobby, buy a tikka stainless $629. I second this. No worries with such a purchase.
What could be a sadder way to end a life than to die having never hunted with great dogs, good friends and your family?

Then buy a lifetime supply of ammo when you buy the gun. There is no guarantee any chambering will have factory ammo on the shelf in the future. I think there are a whole lot of good reasons to choose the 6.5 creedmoor as a general purpose hunting round. I don't see it as being a fad round but time will tell.

If after purchasing I can settle on a factory round that shoots well and is very effective on game, I very well might take this advice

I think people are realizing you don't need a cannon to kill a deer. The two biggest bucks over ever killed were with a 243 and a swede.

i can talk myself into any rifle, and if i then pause from the desire for a week, i can talk myself out of it... i have saved a lot of gun money using that technique...
