DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said they have "multiple deputies down" at a Douglas County apartment complex.
The deputies were responding to a shots fired call early Sunday morning at a complex at 3403 East County Line Road.
The sheriff’s office has issued a “Code Red,” instructing residents in the area to shelter in place.

Damn. The day started out so good too.
Nothing quite bothers me more within the country than hearing an officer has been hurt or killed.
When those 5 officers were killed in Dallas, everything inside my mind turned black.

Yup and I am surprised at the lack of coverage.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office confirmed multiple deputies are down after shots were fired at them early Sunday morning. The severity of their injuries is unknown.
The sheriff's office first told 11 News the situation is, "Not looking good for us."
The shots fired happened in the 3400 block of County Line Road and is still an active scene. That's between Colorado and University boulevards in Highlands Ranch area.
The incident began when deputies responded to a domestic disturbance just before 5:15 a.m. at the Copper Canyon Apartments. During the investigation, shots were fired.
Deputies warned the public to avoid the area. There are currently road closures in place. County Line Road from Colorado to University boulevards is closed, as well as C-470 between Quebec Street and University Boulevard.
A "Code Red" was sent to residents in the area, warning people to shelter in place and to avoid windows and exterior walls.

8 ambulances have been sent to the scene, which gives some idea of the fracas. Thoughts and prayers to all involved.

I have family just outside of Denver and two of their daughters (my cousins) were inside Columbine at the time those kids went off the deep end. I support the 2nd Amendment 100% and don't feel our rights are subject to scrutiny because a psychopath and/or criminal decides to act badly but do acknowledge these incidents really take a toll on the general public from all the negative and unfair coverage. An armed society is a free (and much more polite) society but we really need to get a handle on A) getting violent criminals(and drug dealers) off the street and keeping them in prison and B) illegal immigration and the chain migration/lottery system by taking Trump's lead and vetting immigrants and selecting the ones that want to be law-abiding, productive US citizens. That won't stop every violent act but it would sure cut down on most of them!!
