This is a meaningless question about North Korea, but I'll ask it anyway. What are the chances we get into a war with them in the next 12 months, from 1-100%?

Practically nil.
The US will not do a pre-emptive strike.
Un knows that if he strikes, his reign is over.
China knows that if there is a war, the US will occupy North Korea until the country is reunited, and they really don't want that.

A war usually requires 2 fighting entities.
I was thinking the other day how much I used to hate Bill Clinton. He was freaking George Washington compared to what they are now.

It's in neither our financial interest or Gerbil boys financial interest to start a war.
With things heating up in Persia, once again is the wearers of diapers and phuggers of goats we need to keep our eyes on.

China would have too much to lose, IMHO.
Broncos are officially the worst team in the nation this year.

Ya know.....I'm 67 and can't remember a single day since we bought our first TV and turned on the news that there wasn't "termoill in the middle east".

Yep......yet we continue to spend billions every year fighting some of them, giving weapons to some of them, and rebuilding some of them in hopes they'll become our friends. Talk about insanity....

If we strike first, China is bound by treaty to come to NK's aid. The US knows that very well but is never seems to be mentioned by the media. If NK strikes first, for whatever reason, they are on their own.
I'm not too worried about all this.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

NK has a history of threatening the US. In the past, our presidents have got scared and gave them billions of $$ to appease them. Un is just trying the same thing. If Obama was still president, he'd have done it but Un didn't figure on Trump.

Not long ago, one of the official Chinese "news" outlets let it be known that China wouldn't interfere if NK struck first. That implies that if we strike first, they would. Stalemate.
The biggest risk, I believe, is that one of Fat Boy's bottle rockets will go off course or out of control and head for someplace that will require a defensive move by us or one of our allies. Things could easily get out of hand as a result (see Failsafe).
In the meantime, we need to continue working on ways to shoot down incoming missles. We have limited ability now, but given time and money, we may get to the point where the chances for a successful limited attack on us are too slim for anyone to consider it. We also need to work on shielding our infrastructure from the so-called "pulse" attacks. Seems that the science isn't quite settled on that concept just yet, according to some stuff I've read lately, but there's plenty of evidence that such an attack would be disastrous, if not civilization ending. Of course, we can play that game too.
What fresh Hell is this?
