I am offering for sale a very nicely sporterized Eddystone US 1917 Enfield. The caliber has been changed to 300WM. The quality of the sporterizing is very nice -- nice wood and checkering; nice bluing and polishing; nice fitting. Still cocks on closing. Drilled and tapped for bases (not sure which -- both are same space). It's a nice rifle -- too bad these old sporters don't bring seem to be too well valued. PM me for more photos. PRICE: $350.00 shipped in conUS to FFL who accepts from individual.

I have received questions about this rifle's accuracy. Fact is, I don't know. It belongs to my neighbor. I would be happy to shoot a few images of the bore with my Lyman borecam for anyone interested. I have owned and competed with a couple of original 1917s and all were shooters. Looking at the overall quality of the sporterizing, I can't imagine going through all that work on a rifle with a crappy barrel.

I'm interested but worried about scope mounts. No idea what fits it?

I'm trying to convince myself I "need" a 300 Win Mag, but these Texas hill country deer just don't justify it. Beautiful work from a by gone era.

I kind of thought the stock would be worth as much as hes asking for the whole rifle.

I would have already bought it if it had bases on it.
