Well 22 rf finally got down to where I'm willing to buy again. 5000 rounds from Academy on the way. Don't shoot a whole lot of rf, but will have a few rounds for the kids and their kids. The last boxes I have (3) are 550 round Feds I paid 10 bucks each for!

I always used to keep about 8 - 10 bricks on hand in case of another rimfire shortage. Write the date purchased on each box with a sharpie so I can use the oldest stuff first. Still got some that's over ten years old and wish that I had put the price on there also. That would be interesting. Gonna be doing that with future purchases.

When I was a kid we used to get a dollar a 100# sack for black walnuts. That was c. 1957 and would get us a coupla 50 round boxes of Remington LR's. A penny a shot. Come to think of it, considering inflation, $.05 per isn't really that bad, all things considered...61 years later!

I ordered Blazer 40 grainers. Needed something that would function thru my Advantage Arms 1911 conversion, specifically. Also have a MK1 Ruger and a 10-22. These are basically Mini-mags with wax lubed lead bullets. From Academy, $2.49 per 50 rnds, everyday price. Ordered 100 boxes.

edit: that price includes free shipping. Some places are slightly cheaper, but with the shipping exceeds the above. I'm an old tight-wad...and mainly just a plinker.

That was kinda my spot for bulk 22 since it went stupid.

Seems it's reliably available and much cheaper than a few years ago, and just starting to get back close the $.05 number. Make me happy.

You're absolutely right, but some of the cheapskates here expect to pay the same thing I paid when I was 12, and that was long ago. I did the math on .22 prices based on my hourly pay rate back in the 70s and when I retired in 2010, and these are the good old days!

I'd actually be happy to pay what I did before the 22LR scarcity, Newton/Sandy Hook was Dec. 2012, The shortage started (here) mid Jan. 2013.

2.50/box for CCI Standard Velocity... Now it's $3.50/box===> That's $100 more a case!

I think it is still going down in price... albeit slowly.

Blazers shoot great in my RAR Predator, and even better in my CZ 455 Scout. My 452 shoots pretty good with them, too. They are a pretty good shooting load.

Listings from ammo dealers all over. Some 3.8 cent stuff showing up & seems to still be dropping, slowly, but still dropping. CCI went down a penny just last week.
