Looking to buy a reasonably priced Griffin & Howe mount and 1" rings for this Winchester Model 70. This is the style of base on the rifle, so I just need a mount and rings to match.

PM me if you have one or now of a source...thanks

What do you consider reasonable as regards price? G & H mounts with 1" rings are becoming hard to find.

Certainly less than what G&H wants for them but I guess it will ultimately depend on what it'll take to pry it from the hands of the sellers.

Best place to look is Ebay. FYI a Jaeger top will also fit with minor modification to the base. the 1" split rings are the hard part to find.

7/8" 22mm solid rings mounts are easy to find an many period correct Lyman Alaskans and German (22mm) scopes can be found.

Why would anyone want to alter the G & H base to create a mongrel mount? G & H mounts are not that hard to find.

My question is why would you want to drill holes in the side of a pre 64? powdr
