Didn't know I was sticking up for Larry Root. Expected a dogpile just the same tho.
I do agree with you about the flaming goes on around here. Sometimes they get it right, maybe, but just because there's 10 guys flaming someone doesn't mean they're right because they have "numbers", sock puppets included. And BTW, if Larry has a sockpuppet people question his integrity. If Deflave has one they think it's cute. On it's face, that's hypocrisy. But Dave's one of the cute crowd so it flies. Whatever, they're both a waste of time in my book.
In my experience the flamers are usually just drunk and abusive, facts be damned. The guys they're flaming are more targets of opportunity than serial offenders. Larry Root may be the exception to that. But it doesn't sound like he's ripped off anyone. Can't say the same thing for some other "well respected" people here. I really don't care about Larry Root one way or another, but he brings up some interesting points about what goes on around here, which I can't disagree with.
I personally think people should be objective and view things for what they are, not what one drunk flamer wants to make of it. So far, I'm not seeing anyone claim Larry ripped them off. Give him that. yeah, he's got a history of lying, I've caught him at it myself, and I knock him for it.
Hell, I've got people here think I'm the worst thing to ever walk the earth. I used to let it bug me, but I realized these people don't know me. Have never been to my house, sat down and had dinner with my family, so what do I care what they think? I care what my friends think of me, people that know me and are important to me help keep my character in check. Those I value. If all of you want to think I defend Larry Root, who cares? That's your problem understanding not my problem explaining.

I'm kinda glad Larry pops in every now and then.
It's always a good laugh to see how fast he is ferreted out, how he initially plays coy, and then once he knows the jig is up reveals that he is in fact the same old dick.
I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

To quote Rodney Dangerfield, or was it Rodney King? Can't we all just get along? Roy's a good guys also, whether you like his opinions or not... We don't always see eye to eye on something, but I never let it get in the way of being sociable... and neither has he... Roy doesn't need me to defend him, he's a big boy.... without mentioning any names, there are quite a few others that ought to give that a try themselves..
