I'm not too familiar with the Browning rifles, my younger brother and his son love them. Could you share your feelings about the brand and what earns your respect. Love the 300 mag cal as well as some others. Thank you for your consideration.

As an owner of 7+ A-Bolt's (Abolt II) and my "go to" rifle is a Stainless Stalker w/BOSS chambered in 300 Win Mag topped with a Leupold 4.5-14x50mm, 30mm main tube, Illuminated reticle scope.
The 45 degree bolt is a major positive along with a tang safety for seamless access. The hinged floor plate along with a removable magazine also keeps adding positive features. Browning also introduced another option called the BOSS (Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System) to the end of their barrels that basically acts as a tuning fork and a muzzlebreak. Moving it in and out with tighten/open your ammo grouping without changing the load. If you don't want/like the "muzzle blast" from the ported BOSS then they also offered a "solid" version called the CR BOSS.
Their recoil pad's are nothing to brag about but the synthetic stock version has a "direct fit" option from Simms Vibration Labs that makes shooting this rifle a dream. They also produce a pad for the wood stocks but they are a "Grind to Fit" so hence the phrase either a gunsmith or their factory will do it for you unless you feel you've got the talent to try it.
Browning offers multiple versions of this model so it all comes down to personal preference to Wood, Synthetic, Gloss, Matte/Satin, or Stainless.

I have an older medallion in .22, and a new AB2 in 30-06. Both stellar accuracy and comfort. Not a frilly rifle, but good features such as the hinged floorplate box mag system. I'm currently looking for an AB2 in 243 because they're such a sweet little rifle.

There are two at my local....
One’s a medallion with an aftermarket stock.
The seconds a Hunter, looks new.
PM me and I’ll give you the number. They sell on Gun broker so they may even be listed. Good guys over there.

( have a really nice NIB Browning Medallion A Bolt Grade III with an octagon barrel in .325 WSM. Nice gloss wood with really exceptional figure in the stock. A limited run by Browning several year back.
