This is the R I got at the UGCA gun show last weekend. I mentioned that it came with some Peters 100 gr. corelokt round nose ammo that the seller said shoots 1 1/4" groups in the rifle. If I'm not buried in honey dew's tomorrow I'll take it to the range and see if I can get 1 1/4" groups. After buying that 1895 I'd better be saying "yes dear" to all of her requests. The rifle has an E LBC, great looking bore, nice case, nice blueing on the receiver, great wood and a reblued barrel that the markings were polished until they are barely readable. At least the price was right. It had some high rings which I replaced with low rings and mounted a VariX 3x9. It is a Chicopee barrel. David

Good deal for you. I bet the barrel got rusted up being stored in a gun case. Should be a sweet shooter!

David,
I bet a shiny nickel that it becomes the most accurate 99 you own.

A nice rifle, David. Let us know how she shoots with the Remington ammo. I bet it's your antelope rifle next season.

Nice!
They are such awesome rifles to shoot.
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, he would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!

It shot a 1 1/4" group with the peters 100 RN's. Some 87g hot cores, 36 g Rl15, would shoot 2 o 3 shots under an inch and then throw one out 3". The scope wouldn't adjust for windage so will have to mount another scope and try some other hot core loads. David

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

Nope, my R loves the 100 gr C/L's. I have 300 87's, and bought a couple more 250's, just to make an 87 dedicated rifle. But, my hunting buddy inherited about 1000, 100 gr C/L's, so I won't be changing any time soon.
