Running animals to death with fresh dogs, road hunting from the back of pickups, trespass with dogs, shooting treed animals and crap like this-no wonder people hate hunters/gun owners. I’m a hunter and I hate it.

Hunting the steppe region of Kazakhstan. Not really big on political correctness over there. They hunt bears during denning season, pull them out of dens and shoot then celebrate with a few bottles of vodka.
They hate wolves in Russia, former soviet republics and eastern Europe because of all the killings of human, livestock and game over the centuries by the beautiful fluffy wolves. Well documented instances of packs of wolves attacking small remote settlements trying eat humans, who were struggling to stay alive with little to no food, and wiping out their livestock which pretty much meant the family did not make it through winter.
Easy to love them if you don't have to live with them

How about the guy who responded from MT? No wolves there either. Who the hell said anything about loving wolves. There are ways to hunt and kill them that don't involve vodka and snowmobiles.

A very sobering look at wolves in Russia is a book by Will Graves. Wolves in Russia, anxiety through the ages. The gist of it is wolves have killed huge amounts of livestock, and people,( physically verified) after wildlife numbers decreased to the point that there was nothing left to eat. Also the rural public is unarmed, and have been unable to defend themselves and their property. Russian gov hunters have killed thousands of wolves in the last decades but the number of wolves, and the vastness of the the land is unlike anything we can fathom. Read the book.
