Received an empty PVC package from the USPS today that appeared to have been intentionally sliced open on one end. I could be wrong, but it does not appear to have been damaged in transit -- the opening is simply too neat and precise for that -- so I suspect it was intentionally opened and stolen.
Among a few minor things in with it was a new 24" Contender barrel in .300 Savage by Dave Van Horn out of Gilbert AZ. The package spent a couple days at the San Antonio distribution center, so I plan on making some calls to gun and pawn shops there.
But if anyone notices one of these going up for sale, I'd really appreciate you letting me know. There aren't many of these out there at all.
In the meantime, Dave will have to file a claim with the USPS as it was fully insured.

What is this world we live in. Good luck in getting your materials. I don't expect a good result from any gov ran agency any more. The government use to be the high standard of integrity, but look at Washington today. The most corrupt institution in America and every agency under their control. It is with a sad heart that I say this because it's the American people that's letting it happen.

Contact your local post office and tell them you want to file an MRC search. Also call 800-ASK-USPS and file a complaint with all the info on your item. Be diligent and don’t let them blow you off.

That sucks. Stories like this are why I am hesitant to send a gun off for repair or refurbishment. I hope you come out OK here.

Same thing happened to me purchased some .243 AI brass and bullets and the box was cut open brass removed and taped back up

Loaded on the conservative side, it is just fine in th Contender. It is NOT OK with factory ammo, however. I've been at the Contender game for a long time and can assure you that I don't red-line anything, but I do appreciate your concern.
