Are Ken Farrell bases and rings worth the money? Looking to put on an MRC 6.5 Creedmoor I have on order.

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

I’ve got a couple Farrell picatinny rails for a pair of Cooper Rifle’s. My chief complaints would be height and price. They’re needlessly high.

What bases would you recommend for my MRC. I have Talleys on my 243. I want to be able to switch scopes easier. What about the Nightforce bases?

EGW makes some lighter ones out of aluminum... Other than that you have warne 2-pc which are super low profile and bulletproof as well. I’ve used EGW and Warnes with good success. Montana has base recommendations on their website: http://montanarifleco.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Scope-base-info.pdf

You might also consider the Burris xtreme tactical 2 piece bases. They’re true picatinny rail spec bases unlike the Warner which is weaver spec and have to have the slot opened up to use picatinny rings. Their M70 bases should work on the MRC action, part #410605

In my view Farrell’s FG-Force recoil lug concept is unnecessarily complicated. Further, I’ll reiterate Farrell’s notion that picatinny rails should be made thicker to allow for the use of lower rings is a solution looking for a problem.
Farrell’s one advantage is that they offer picatinny rails for an incredibly broad range of applications.

nothing real complicated about a simple set screw that bears against the forward bridge

The Farrel one piece steel weaver bases were $20 on sale at Midway in 2000, regularly $60.
We were building a bunch of rifles at the same time.
We still have not used many of the Farrell bases, they are just too heavy.
As Mjduct said, EGW... Almost everything I build with a one piece gets an EGW.

I would like to thank everyone for the information. I am getting 2 sets of EGW bases. Now for the rings, think I am going go with the Burris or Nightforce rings.

I’d look at APA rings and Seekins.

Burris signature rings are a no brainer because you gain moa right out of the gate with their inserts.

Going to try Burris Extreme rings, now I have to pick a scope. Leaning toward a VX-5HD or a LRHS. The NXS is not in my price range.
