I pulled the trigger on a 2004 model last fall, when my 17 yr old truck laid down for good. Low miles, so far so good! Anyone else have one?
I removed the rear seats and built a bunk for camping, liking the versatility on the little "toaster".

Don't forget Subaru's

For the longest time I thought the blue and yellow "=" was a Subaru logo.
My daughter filled me in...

My wife's best friend had one. She wasn't a dyke, but she did have short hair and probably dabbled with other women....

I've been in two major accidents in my life, my son and I both would be dead if I was driving an Element or any other small car for that matter.

I had a 2004 Honda Element.

I loved it - but my wife shut my sons hand on the clamshell door and told me she was never going to drive it again so I traded it in on a CRV.

What I liked most about it is the utlity of it - IIRC the seats fold in such a way that it makes a comfortable cot to sleep in, and the interior - at least mine was like the old work trucks. If you were careful about it you could just spray it down and wash it out.

Room in the back seat is cavernous - my kids loved it too.

Same engine as the CRV but I think its noticeably heavier so it didn't have much pep, the A/C was OK but not great and it didn't get very good gas mileage

The car was actually designed for millineals to be a throwback to old woody beach cars, but they found out that 40-60 year olds liked it more.

There is nothing small about a Honda Element, It was almost as long as my Mini-Van. Its a quirky car - one of those toasters on wheels designs. It just has a huge interior with head room.

Yeah, I also would not call it small. I like the AWD, it did OK in the recent 12 inch snow we had. mileage, yes, I only get around 19 city and up to 26 hwy, but it does lack in the acceleration dept.

I always thought that an Element would be a good foundation for a sleep in vehicle.

Tent camping got old to me a long time ago. But it would be nice to have a vehicle with a bed already set up in the back. Go to bed at bedtime,...get up and drive home when it's time to go home,..with no tent set up or take down necessary.

Yep, I thought the same. The spartan interior is a plus. Pretty sure the male version is called the FJ Cruiser.

agreed. I like to spend time up in the Adirondacks, lots of free camping there and places to calm-water paddle my little pack boats. I have to get used to the low clearance, vs my old truck. Still hitting a few small boulders now and then.

I saw a nice 10 point buck strapped to a Fiero once.
