I'm using H4831sc powder and Hornady 178 ELD-X bullet. Can't find load data , nosler new cases, win primers. Locking for a start and max load for a ladder test. The rifle is win fw SS . Any one done this test? Thank you for your consideration.

Check Hodgdon's online data. For a 175 Sierra, they go from 66 to 70 grains with H4831sc.

What percentage would you reduce the charges for .010 jammed?

Maybe a grain, if at all. I'd start at 65 gr and load to 71, if 70 wasn't compressed. What primers are you going with?

Win primers and nosler new brass. I have to say the nosler brass is something special when it comes to comparing one to another. Wall thickness and weights are amazing as is the case lengths. Best I have ever seen, but we can't get the really good brass in 300 wsm .

I've gotten great results from the original Win brass that came out right after the WSM's were introduced. I don't shoot it much anymore, just to check zero and hunt every so often, so the couple hundred I have will last past my use of the rifle. That said, I've found the Nosler brass of the last couple years equal to Lapua quality in sporting rifles. I may be able to tell differences in target guns with match chambers. I anneal after every 4-6 firings anyway.

I thank you so much for your responses. I don't think they will ever make 300wsm cases by Lapua, not sure why .

I worked up 178s to 3180 FPS in my 24" 300 WSM but I wasn't using 4831, but was using Norma (I believe Norma makes the Nosler brass for them) brass.

I use the Norma Brass and it is quite nice. Can't help with your specific information but the suggestion to use the Hodgdon Reloading Data is a good one and should get you going.
